Ukraine and allies join to protect Europe from ballistic missiles.

In short: 

Ukraine has formed a missile defence coalition with nine European countries including Germany, France and the UK. 

The coalition will jointly develop a mass-produced, low-cost system, to let Europe supply itself with new anti-ballistic capability. 

What's next?

A Kremlin spokesman called the development a "coalition of warmongers" driven by "profound delusion".
