LABOR WILL END ASSET SALES SPEND

Media Release

The Queensland Opposition today reaffirmed its commitment not to sell state assets following revelations that bankers, lawyers and accountants are in Brisbane, pitching for a role in the $30 billion fire sale.
Opposition Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk said Campbell Newman remained steadfast in his commitment to sell Queensland’s assets and was already spending millions of taxpayer dollars in the process.
“This is yet another arrogant action from an arrogant LNP government and an arrogant Premier,” Ms Palaszczuk said."
“Queenslanders have made it clear they do not want asset sales, yet Campbell Newman is set to give millions of taxpayer dollars to global investment banks whose only goal is to flog them off."
“Labor has listened but Campbell Newman and Tim Nicholls are refusing to hear the message."
“Campbell Newman said he wouldn’t sell Queensland’s assets without a mandate."
“Why then has he started courting bankers, lawyers and accountants, all of whom will expect multi-million dollar payouts from taxpayers?”
Ms Palaszczuk said Queenslanders had made it clear they did not want asset sales but the LNP thought they knew better.
“Campbell Newman and the LNP have made up their mind,” she said.
“They are engaging merchant bankers, lawyers and accountants to do the legwork without getting your mandate to sell our assets."
“They are taking your vote for granted."

“Campbell Newman lied to Queensland and he needs to explain why.”
