POLL SHOWS LNP SPIN DOESN’T WASH

Media Release

Deputy Opposition Leader, Tim Mulherin, says latest polling suggests Campbell Newman remains the LNP's biggest problem and Queenslanders have not been fooled by the government’s “operation boring”.
“People have not been fooled by the blatant misinformation and spin being peddled by the government,” Mr Mulherin said.
“They recognise the Premier's ingrained arrogance and the government's know-it-all attitude epitomised by the bungling Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie."
“People can see straight through the so-called ‘operation boring’.
“They have seen Campbell Newman and his government up close for two-and-a-half years."
“They are not about to be fooled by a stage-managed spin campaign to paint the Premier in a new light."
“They know the cranky and arrogant Campbell Newman they have seen since March 2012 hasn't gone away. He is still with us.”
Mr Mulherin said asset sales could also be a major factor in the latest polling.
“Queenslanders recognise the major point of difference between the two major parties remains asset sales,” he said.
“Typical of their arrogance, the LNP and Campbell Newman are already planning to sell assets. The choice at the next election will be clear — the LNP will sell assets, Labor won't.”
Mr Mulherin said the Labor Party did not take any poll for granted.
“We are easily the underdogs in the coming election but we have lifted our vote in all major published polls since the last election because our small team led by Annastacia Palaszczuk has been out and about listening to Queenslanders,” he said.
“Labor has held town hall meetings where we listen to locals, unlike the Premier whose first action at Community Cabinets was to scrap the open Q&A session that former Premiers had undertaken."

“As a result of listening to Queenslanders we have so far released more than two dozen policies with a heavy emphasis on jobs and will be releasing more policies as we approach the next election.”
