In short:

A traditional owner of the land regained following the Wave Hill Walk-Off 60 years ago says the legacy of the historic Indigenous struggle for equal pay and land rights has been pivotal in Australian history.

The overseer of the Wave Hill Station around that time says he was saddened to see high levels of Indigenous unemployment and welfare reliance following the walk-off from cattle industry jobs.

What's next?

Traditional owners and the NT Cattlemen's Association are hoping to renew efforts to get more young Indigenous people into jobs on their land.
