Can extinct eastern quolls really return to the wild?

Eastern quolls became extinct on the Australian mainland in the 1960s. A bold program “rewilded” a small number of them in pristine bushland at Jervis Bay on the NSW coast.

Now they’ve died out again, raising questions about the future of the iconic little predators.
