Drones and missiles have hit Ukraine's capital Kyiv, killing four people and injuring at least 80 others.
The strikes happened shortly after 1am local time on Sunday.
Several residential buildings were damaged across the city, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram, adding that debris was on fire at a school premises in the city centre.
According to the mayor, two people were killed in the capital itself, while two others were killed in the wider Kyiv region.

"It was a terrible night for Kyiv," Mr Klitschko said.
"Right now, rescuers are putting out fires and clearing debris. Medics are providing assistance to the victims."

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for "consequences for Russia" following the attack.
"Decisions are needed — from the United States, from Europe and others," Mr Zelenskyy said on Telegram.
Mr Zelenskyy said Russia had also targeted water-supply facilities, saying Moscow wanted to damage them before summer increased demand.
Russia said it had used Oreshnik, Iskander, Kinzhal and Zircon missiles in retaliation for Kyiv's strikes on civilian targets in Russia. Ukraine says it does not target civilians.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul condemned Sunday's attack in a post on X.
He described the use of an Oreshnik ballistic missile as "another escalation".
Many residents sought shelter overnight in the city's metro stations.
Nataliia Zvarych, 62, said she had rushed to her local station as explosions started rocking the city.

"It was terrifying, scary," she said.
"We have been sitting here for more than three hours now, listening to the explosions up there."
Strikes were reported in other parts of Ukraine. Two people were killed and nine others injured in attacks on the broader Kyiv region, said regional governor Mykola Kalashnyk.
Another 11 people were wounded in the central Ukrainian city of Cherkasy when a drone crashed into an apartment block, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said.
Putin boasted about missile
Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously boasted about the Oreshnik missile, claiming it is impossible to intercept because of its reported velocity of more than 10 times the speed of sound.

Ukraine has previously been hit twice by the Oreshnik missile by Russia: first in November 2024, and in January 2026.
Following a Ukrainian strike on a student dorm in the Russian-controlled Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine overnight on Saturday, Putin had ordered his military to prepare options for retaliation.

The head of the Russian-installed administration in the Luhansk region said that 18 people had been killed in the strike, with a further 48 injured and 10 still accounted for.
Following the January attack, leaders in Britian, France and Germany described Russia's use of an Oreshnik ballistic missile as "escalatory and unacceptable".
