Opposition Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk says the Premier should not put Queensland in the embarrassing position of being the last state to sign up to the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
“The Premier must stop playing politics and sign up to the NDIS,” Ms Palaszczuk said in Cairns today."
“If he is serious about doing the right thing for Queenslanders living with a disability and their families and carers he should commit today to signing up."
“Already all the other major states have signed up to the NDIS."
“We don’t want the embarrassment of Queensland being the last state to recognise the benefits of the scheme."
“This is a landmark initiative and an opportunity that should not fall victim to petty politics,” Ms Palaszczuk said.
