Pictures from the bushfire devastation gripping New South Wales are revealing the extent of the damage.

smoke and ash was so thick in parts of the mid-north coast that the sky
was turned bright orange as it filtered the sunlight.NSW is facing an unprecedented bushfire emergency that has destroyed properties and cut people off from authorities amid dreadful conditions.
At one stage on Friday, 17 emergency warnings were issued for blazes burning at several locations around the state.
In the coastal community of Forster, about 250 kilometres north of Sydney, massive flames have crept close to residences, including a nursing home.
Forster, combined with its immediate neighbouring town of Tuncurry, has a population of about 20,000.
About 30 kilometres north-west of Forster in the town of Hillville, a major out-of-control fire forced people to flee their homes on Friday afternoon.
Further north in Taree, two lucky dogs that were running around the fire ground were rescued by a nearby fire crew.
Fires have also threatened homes in Harrington, near Crowdy Bay National Park, a little north of Forster and about 300 kilometres north-east of Sydney.
The fires around Port Macquarie have given the entire region an eerie orange tinge, with one resident describing the scene as "apocalyptic".
In
northern NSW, in the town of Wardell, Jodie Sutor was forced to flee
her home as small spot fires erupted on her neighbour's roof.
The fires across the state can be seen from space, with satellites recording smoke plumes along the coast.
