In short:

New data has revealed serious e-bike injuries doubled at Sydney's St Vincent Hospital  last year, with 10 per cent of people requiring intensive care treatment.

Bicycle Industries Australia has highlighted the number of e-bikes being sold has increased from 9,000 in 2017 to around 200,000 by 2022.

What's next?

The NSW government has a raft of proposals set to change how e-bikes operate across the state.
