In short:

The world's most powerful radio telescope has taken a photo of the Milky Way's most extreme region, spanning 650 light-years.

The image is the largest ever taken by the Atacama Large Millimetre / Submillimetre Array (ALMA) in Chile.

What's next?

The image could teach scientists more about star formation and how it changes in different conditions.
