The Green New Deal was proposed earlier this year by Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez. It aims to address both the climate crisis and the crisis
of growing inequality. It’s a political response that would mean a
major restructuring of politics and the economy, and it is one that Naomi Klein believes is urgent and essential.
Klein tells Anushka Asthana she came to understand the urgency of the climate crisis after years of activism on injustice and globalisation.
