We had left Venus, for good or for ill, and our ship landed on the home planet at an interesting place, but the inhabitants there had to forage for food.  Prospects for the returning explorers looked dim – we had returned at the most stringent time – until suddenly an angel appeared.  Or was it two angels?  Sometimes it is hard to distinguish an angel from a real person.
